Having put in tens of thousands of hours tutoring hundreds of students over thirty years, I have developed strategies for overcoming these difficulties – strategies based on developing understanding and effective study routines that are firmly baked into the course.
The Easter revision course
The Problem
The Easter vacation is a critical and potentially daunting period. With important exams just weeks away, the use a student makes of this time can make a huge difference. But, with a mountain of material to revise, it’s all too easy to be put off or to fritter away the time not knowing quite how or where to start.
The Solution
This Easter revision programme is designed to deal with exactly that problem. As well as providing encouragement and motivation at a crucially important time, this course will organise your son or daughter's revision to ensure it has structure, direction and purpose. The tutor will systematically work through the topics with them and explain the subject material in a clear and effective way. They will be advised on how to approach exam questions and given plenty of practice.
The tutor will also provide ongoing support until the summer exams through WhatsApp.
The Structure
Teaching is online via Zoom in a small group – small enough for students to receive individual attention while maintaining the benefits of an interactive environment. There will be 6 hours of tutorials each day plus breaks. The tutorials will include both explanation of the concepts and practice in their application. A typical daily timetable would be:
9:00am to 10:30am: tutorial
10:30am to 11:00am: break
11:00am to 1:00pm: tutorial
1:00pm to 2:00pm: lunch break
2:00pm to 3:30pm: tutorial
3:30pm to 4:00pm: break
4:00pm to 5:00pm: tutorial
All students will receive ongoing support until the summer exams, at no extra charge.
The Dates
The course dates are:
Monday 7 April 2025 to Friday 11 April 2025 inclusive.
Monday 14 April 2025 to Friday 18 April 2025 inclusive.

How this course will help your child
A lot covered quickly
With 30 hours of live online tuition in just one week, a lot of material will be covered, explained, and practised in a short time. If it were done through private tuition, say an hour or two per week, it would take months!
Specific needs addressed
In an interactive group environment, all students benefit from other people asking questions they didn’t think to ask. However, the groups will be small enough to ensure they receive plenty of individual attention.
Ongoing support
After the course is over students will retain access to the tutor through a WhatsApp group, so they can ask for help with any questions they aren’t sure about, or with any difficulties they encounter.
How It Works
1. Book a call and enrol
First talk on the phone to discuss if it will be suitable for your child's situation. This chat will be with the tutor, who will give honest advice.
2. They attend the course
Your child spends a whole week learning and practising the material in a structured and effective way, under expert guidance.
3. Their grade is boosted
The knowledge gained on the course and the ongoing support afterwards help them go into the exam with confidence.

FAQs
Will all topics be covered?
No, unfortunately that would be impossible. The emphasis during the week will be on boosting exam performance. So key topics (i.e. those normally worth a lot of marks) will be covered in depth, and peripheral topics less so. However, advice will be given on how to study the remaining topics, and ongoing support will be available to help keep on top of things.
Will my child be able to concentrate for that long?
I have always found that Year 13 students cope quite well. The pace of work will be brisk but not so hectic that they run out of steam. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal. In the past, people have tended to find it tough but enjoyable, as well as rewarding.
Is it expensive?
The course fee is £750, works out to £25 per hour. For that, your child will get a highly experienced top class tutor as well as ongoing support until the exams.
Which exam board is it for?
The course is most suitable for Year 13 Edexcel, AQA, and OCR A students. If your child is in Year 12 or does a different specification, there are other options. Contact us for more information
What do I need?
As the course is online, you must have a reliable computer and a reliable internet connection. You will also need plenty of writing paper, a pen, and calculator suitable for A-level Maths. It is not compulsory to have a camera and microphone on, but your child will benefit far more if they do
